Zoo opening times
Perth Zoo is open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm every day of the year, including Christmas Day and Good Friday. The Zoo also opens for special evening events as advertised.

The Perth Zoo incorporates a number of enclosures that replicate a variety of natural settings. Wander through the Australian Bush and Wetlands exhibits. Explore the Butterfly House or track through the African Savannah.
Light meals and snacks are available at Geckos Eatery. The Zoo has animal feedings, keeper talks, tours, and a variety of special events throughout the year--refer to the website for details.
Picnic facilities & food
Several free natural gas barbeques and picnic areas are available. Light meals and snacks can be purchased at the Zoo's cafeterias. Self-service snack and vending machines are located throughout the Zoo. We can also cater for group picnics. Families Parent's room, pusher hire, and locker hire are all available to visitors to the Zoo.
Guides and tours
Volunteer guides known as Docents will assist you around the Zoo. Tours available for special interest and disabled groups. You can hire the Zebra Car for personalised tours (small to medium groups only) around the Zoo in comfort. For further details, please phone (08) 9474 0444.
Strollers and buggies
State of the art strollers/prams or two-seater, pull-along buggies can help you move small children around Perth Zoo. Both are available for hire from the front entrance at a cost of $12 for the whole day. A driver's licence or credit card must be presented for security reasons. Alternatively, a $50.00 returnable bond may be left.
